ArcelorMittal Global R&D Basque Country is one of the 16 R&D centers that ArcelorMittal has worldwide.
AMBCRC has a team of 15 researchers with extensive industrial experience rarely found in the field of research, given that part of this team comes from factory management positions such as Technical Management, responsible for finishing division, responsible for Continuous Casting or steelshop manager. Additionally, AMBCRC is located in ArcelorMittal Sestao plant, and since Sestao has been nominated by the company as a R&D pilot plant, AMBCRC is the reference for the group in developing research activities in the fields of CSP product development, metal scrap processes, EAF and Breakthrough Processes. On the other hand, it should be mentioned that, since its creation in 2008, the Basque Country R&D center has participated in almost all of the R&D activities of the plants that ArcelorMittal has in the Basque Country region.
