On 23rd of January, 2013, SECPhO was invited to give a presentation about Photonics cluster’s theory and activity during Business in Photonics course at the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain. This class is offered to MSc degree students of Photonics, which is a joint program between local students of MSc in Photonics and Europhotonics Erasmus Mundus MSc in Photonics Engineering, Nano & Bio Photonics.

This was a good chance of making students aware about the Photonics innovation clusters, their activity, how students can be involved and what benefits they can get from cluster. Moreover, interesting discussions were induced about how and what clusters could do to improve their performance in photonics community.

SECPhO took this opportunity to attract the talent and encourage students of science not to be afraid of going to industry after their studies, explaining different options and possibilities of employment in photonics industry.

SECPhO wishes a very good luck to all young people interested in photonics and encourages it’s members to involve young generation more actively in their company’s activities. From our side, SECPhO is preparing some proposals of future actions towards young talent attraction and motivation. Follow the news!
