Secpho has been working in European projects for a long time. Since 2013 we have collaborated in up to 13 consortiums, some of them being so much strong that became awarded with more funding. We are currenty participating in five European projects from H2020, COSME and INNOSUP programs. In two of them, DeepTech4Good and EPRISE, we are consolidating a strong partnership that started in RESPICE SME and OASIS.
CARLA (2020-2021) aims to boost the numbers of students and young researchers pursuing careers in photonics, to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship and to empower diversity. CARLA stands for the European Photonics CAReer LAunch Path. Coordinated by secpho member ICFO, CARLA is a 2-year H2020 EU-funded project that will develop a training/educational program for European photonics career camps to encourage STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics) university students, PhD students and young postdocs to pursue their careers in photonics. The goal of CARLA is to create a rigorous, tested and easily reproducible tool to support growth, leadership and innovation potential in photonics at the European level.
Secpho will collaborate within the CARLA project by creating a common methodology regarding the matchmaking activities during the events in order to promote the co-creation of the definition of requirements from each group of interest.
DIGI-B-CUBE (2019-2022) provides public funding and support to innovative SMEs to develop prototypes, customised products and services to tackle digitalisation challenges within the health sector, across the Bioimaging, Biosensing and Biobanking industries. The project aims to unlock the cross-sectoral collaborative potential of SMEs by combining novel Digital Technologies with the Bioimaging-Biosensing-Biobanking industries. It will support the development and delivery of new market sensitive disruptive technologies and key digital innovations to reconfigure patient-centred diagnostics towards a Health Economy 4.0.
Secpho is involved in the process of matchmaking and building links for cross-sectoral collaboration and leads the tasks related to follow-up coaching and the building of regional synergies for SMEs.
Custodian (2019-2022) involves 10 entities focused on industrial laser solutions to develop a new and disruptive methodology in the laser-based manufacturing applications for sectors like automotive, energy and aerospace sector. The idea of the project is to create a methodology of application-driven laser beam, by tailoring the material microstructure and deploying this beam to solve hot-cracking in LBW (Laser Beam welding) and SLM (Solid Laser Melting).
Secpho leads the tasks related to dissemination, communication and training.
DeepTech4Good (2018-2020) facilitates acceleration of European deep tech start-ups working in such sectors as health & wellbeing, industry 4.0, smart city and smart mobility.
Secpho leads tasks related to screening and mapping of European start-ups with high potential and their coaching.
FoodPackLab (2018-2019) aims to foster intersectorial collaboration between European SMEs working in photonics, packaging and food. This project focuses on creation of new solutions for food security. It is the first, preparatory phase of action going for internationalisation of European KET solutions.
Secpho is a leader of great consortium composed by clusters from France, Germany and Spain. Activities planned for FoodPackLab include matchmaking and brokerage events, as well as internationalisation strategy and roadmap.
EPRISE (2017-2019) promotes and supports Photonics as a KET with focus on Life Science applications in 4 target markets where Europe holds a leading position – Medical Technologies, Pharmaceuticals, Agriculture and Food.
Secpho leads the tasks related to Networking and Events and Go-to-Market services. Secpho is part of the Steering Committee and the technical board for the European Photonics Roadshows.
CLUSGRID (Clusters for Smart Grid) is dedicated to consortium clusters’ management and to their members. The project will strengthen clusters management excellence. After the cluster excellence activities such as benchmarking, knowledge exchange, experience and lessons learnt, study visits and workshops, consortium members will be able to improve the management of their organizations and provide top-quality services and support to SMEs
