SECPhO is happy to welcome two new member SMEs in cluster: Cal Sens and ProCareLight . Their areas of activity reinforce cluster’s positioning in business verticals such asmonitoring services of processes and structures anddevelopment of laser safety systems. Moreover, both companies are a great example of knowledge and technology transfer from academic research environment to business. The optimization of knowledge transfer and proper adaptation to market is one of SECPhO’s strategic goals in order to improve the competitiveness of the Spanish photonics sector worldwide.
CalSens SL is a firm with technological base and spin-off of the Technical University of València. It is born from the union of professionals from telecommunications and civil engineering who have been working together from 2004 in photonic technology research projects applied to monitoring of processes and structures.
ProCareLight arises as a spin-off of ICFO (Institute of Photonic Sciences, Barcelona, Spain) with it’s extensive experience in laser safety (Class 3B and Class 4) and light sources (intense pulsed light (IPL), LED and fiber optics). In 2012 a team of researchers with extensive experience in audits of safety and quality and an extensive knowledge of laser and light emission founded ProCareLight.
The growth of cluster expands the technology offer in various fields. It allows gain of a critical mass and establishes a cluster as an outstanding reference in optics and photonics in Southern Europe.
