On 16th of October, Davalor Salud presented its´ new visual diagnostic system that has been developed in close collaboration with one of SECPhO members: the Centre for Sensors, Instruments and Systems Development (CD6). The scientists from CD6 are leading the R&D part of Davalor Salud which led to the establishment of a new research center: The Davalor Research Center, directed by Dr. Jaume Pujol. CD6 scientists also belong to clinical advisory committee with experts in the field of visual function.
The new research center is located in the Gaia building of Terrassa Campus of the UPC. The main goal: to identify and solve problems of visual dysfunction. It is estimated that over 50% of the population is suffering from some sort of visual dysfunctions.
The diagnostic technology developed by Davalor Salud contains series of terminals which allow the measurement of 75 parameters of visual function via gaming, an interactive 3D video game. Majority of these parameters can not be checked objectively by using traditional measurement methods. Thanks to these games it will be possible to improve the diagnosis of visual health and, if necessary, correct it by therapy or training.
