Some decades ago, Artificial Intelligence was a topic purely from science fiction, but during the last years we have seen how much our perspective in this field has changed, being nowadays fully integrated in multiple industrial areas.
The digital revolution that companies from different sectors are currently living is generating a huge amount of data (big data) that need to be processed. This is making, for the first time, having systems with embedded artificial intelligence capable to process such data is real need and must-have for most companies. In particular, in most cases one of the fundamental requirements is that such systems are able to learn themselves, thanks using one of the most well-known tools of Artificial Intelligence: machine learning.
Among the different machine learning techniques, deep learning has emerged as a technology providing algorithms such that now there are systems that can take decisions on their own, just based on their own experience and on the type of data used for training them. Even if we are not aware of its presence in our lives, deep learning surrounds us: we use it in our cellphones, in face recognition systems, in apps that tell us what series we might like, etc. And as it could not be otherwise, especially given that it is always a technology at the forefront of any development, Photonics is already implementing these tools in multiple areas, such as artificial vision or biomedical imaging.
For this reason, at secpho we want to deepen in such technologies and in the way that photonics is helping to develop this sector in Spain. Therefore, we have designed this webinar on Photonics and Deep Learning, that will be a connecting point for all the community working in these technologies, at the same time that serves as a dynamic forum to start new initiatives. The webinar will be developed throughout presentations from top experts in the field, yet to be determined.
This webinar will be in English and it is addressed to:
- Specialists and R&D Directors of companies from Telecommunications, Security, Defense, agrofood, etc.
- Scientists from R&D centers, Universities, and companies from the Photonic Industry.
Technical requirements to attend the webinar
We will use the Cisco Webex platform that is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux. You can use browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari. You can also attend the webinar through mobile devices using the free Webex apps for iOS and Android.
