New Space, a new environment for deep tech
Save the date: 16 March 2021

An emerging sector full of opportunities
In recent years, a number of technological innovations that have enabled a significant reduction in costs of space-related projects, have led to new business models in the sector. This new trend is opening up the opportunity to use, for example, Earth Observation data to solve a multitude of current challenges related to areas such as climate change, tourism, sustainable energy, communications or the maintenance of large infrastructures. Deep technologies such as photonics and advanced materials have a lot to contribute in all of these areas. So, save the date for 16 March!
The New Space movement focuses on low-orbit satellite-compatible solutions that can provide new applications in telecommunications and surveillance. It is mainly driven by developments in launchers, satellites and technology (funded by private companies) that fall under the so-called Old Space umbrella, or traditional government-funded innovations by agencies such as the European Space Agency (ESA). New Space’s main targets include the integration of LIDAR and RADAR for space, optical networks for free space, low-luminosity cameras and sensors, quantum technologies and other innovations in the field of integrated photonics.
These new technologies are still an emerging market with great potential, so secpho has decided to create this Diving Session with the aim to explore in depth the different applications of these technologies and to show how background technology can help the development of the sector.

Networking
We know that an essential advantage of face-to-face events is the possibility to network with other attendees and talk in depth with the speakers and presenters of each panel. This session will be virtual, but through our virtual networking tool you will have the opportunity to meet and talk in depth and network (the only thing we won’t have is the handshake).
By registering for this event, the user consents to secpho entering his or her email address into an external application that will serve as virtual networking tool for participants.
Virtual Event
We will use the Webex platform, which is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux. Browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari can be used. You will also be able to attend the webinar via mobile devices using the free Webex apps for iOS and Android.
