There are three layers of “smartness”, that will elevate life in cities of the future:
- The tech base includes high-speed communication networks of connected devices and sensors
- Smart applications and data analysis capabilities, translating raw data into alerts, insight, and action
- Adoption and usage, often leading to better decisions and behaviour change
For example, the city of Barcelona has adopted smart technologies by implementing a network of fiber optics throughout the city, providing free high-speed Wi-Fi that supports the IoT. By integrating smart water, lighting and parking management, Barcelona saved €75 million of city funds and created 47,000 new jobs in the smart technology sector (status 2019).
From secpho, we invite you to join this webinar to get to know the latest advances of smart city technologies having substantial unrealized potential to improve the urban quality of life.
