New solution for optical passive components testing
Aragon Photonics is a Spanish company focused on manufacturing, developing and commercializing unique high precision optical test and measurement instrumentation in the markets of distributed acoustic sensing, thermosolar power and optical communications.
Probably you’ve heard about the BOSA, the high resolution optical spectrum analyzer based on Brillouin scattering thanks to which Aragon Photonics started its business around in 2004. The latest model, BOSA 400, is the flagship of our analyzers developed after hard work and strong communication with customers and partners.
In addition to evolving BOSA, other solutions were also developed to provide the most complete characterization of an optical signal. One of them is the Component Analyzer option which makes the BOSA a passive component analyzer. Since then, we have been working on creating an unparalleled device that could be a reference in the market by having the highest resolution and wavelength accuracy, the fastest measurement time and largest dynamic range for multiport signals in a single unit.
Thus, this year Aragon Photonics has officially launched the High Definition Component Analyzer (HDCA), an instrument ready to obtain the spectra profile of insertion losses (IL), return losses (RL) and polarization dependent losses (PDL) of any device under test with femtometric resolution and fully automated.
The HDCA is thought for R&D and manufacturers of next generation passive components including photonic integrated circuits (PIC), ring resonators, arrayed waveguide gratings (AWG), wavelength selective switches (WSS), fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) and many others.
